Abington Community Library PC USER GUIDELINES
- If no one else is waiting for the computer, five minutes before your session ends, you will receive automatic offers for up to two half-hour extensions.
- You may request the use of a computer up to three times in one business day. - You will receive a warning (indicated by a large window with a blue exclamation mark) that your session is ending 15 and 5 minutes before the computer automatically terminates your session. Please plan your work accordingly.
- Abington Community Library is not responsible for work or time lost due to system or computer failure/malfunction.
- The computers at this library are not equipped with CD burners. You must save your work to a disk or flash drive, or e-mail it to an e-mail address. DO NOT SAVE YOUR WORK TO THE HARD DRIVE! All work saved to our hard drives is erased by periodic computer re-boots throughout the business day.
Printing
- When you print, a window will appear telling you how much the print job will cost ($.15/page). When you click on OK, another window will appear. Please write down the job number from this screen. It is your responsibility to track which jobs you want printed and to take note of the number of pages that will be printed. If you are uncertain about how to print or how to print a limited number of pages, please contact a staff member.
- A print job will be held two hours from the time it is sent to the print console. After one hour, your job will disappear from our print console.
- When you are ready to pick up your print jobs, please go to the Circulation Desk. A staff member will print your jobs after you have paid for each job you request printed. You are not required to pay for print jobs you send to the print console; however, once you have paid for your job(s), and a staff member has printed your jobs, the library cannot refund any portion of the print fee.
