TAX FORMS!

If you haven't noticed, you will not be getting tax forms in the mail. You are encouraged to file electronically. You may do so at the Library using our computers for free. NOTE: We are not prepared to offer you help beyond getting you onto the computer or showing you the folder with reproducible forms you may copy for a small fee from our copiers.

However, there are numerous free options available for patrons to obtain tax products, tax preparation, and assistanc ein filling out their tax returns:

·         Download forms and instructions online at http://www.irs.gov/app/picklist/list/formsInstructions.html
·         Visit an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center (TAC), participating libraries and U. S. Post Offices. Find yours at http://www.irs.gov/localcontacts/index.html
·         Individuals making $49,000 or less and individuals aged 60 and older can use the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program for free tax preparation and, in many cases, free electronic filing. To see what is available visit http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=107626,00.html
