What is the Cooperating Collection?

The Albright Memorial Library is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center. The Foundation Center’s mission is to gather, analyze and disseminate information about foundation to organizations and individuals looking for grants.

As a member of this nationwide network of libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit organizations, the library provides visitors with free public access to grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, plus access to the Foundation Centers electronic databases, The Foundation Directory Online and Foundation Grants to Individuals. These databases contain information on over 92,000 grantmakers across the United States.

Where is the Collection located?

The Collection is located in the Reference Department on the 2nd floor of the Albright Memorial Library and is available during regular library hours. Visitors can access the online databases on any of the library’s public access computers. For assistance, please see any member of the Reference staff.

Who can use The Foundation Center Cooperating Collection?

Anyone! Those seeking to improve their grantwriting skills, development personnel, nonprofit managers, and any individual who is seeking project funding will find this collection extremely helpful.

What library services are available to users?

Reference assistance is available by telephone, e-mail, Internet and in person. While many of the print titles are located in the reference department, many of the books are also available in the library’s circulating collection. Printing and photocopying are available in the Reference Department (.20 per page).
