Lackawanna County Library System users currently have access to two different services for at-home downloadable e-media:

 

1. OverDrive

First Time and Returning Users of the OverDrive service can Click Here to go directly to the OverDrive main page.

Download electronic versions of audiobooks to play on your computer or MP3 player or IPod. Some titles can also be burnt to a CD.

To log on to OverDrive, you will need your Lackawanna County Library System card number (printed on the back of your library card, underneath the barcode).

Loan Period:
Duration: 14 Days

Limit: 10 Titles

Only one user at a time can check out a title. As a result, you may have to place a hold on the desired title.

Please note that there is no way to check a book back in early. Each book stays attached to your account for a full 21 days.

 

2.Recorded Books


Download eAudioBooks to play on your computer, MP3 player, or IPod. Includes titles published by Recorded Books.

The preferred way to enjoy this service is through Media Center (Library Card Required)
NOTE: If you computer runs MacOS, Linux, or the 64-bit version of Windows Vista, please use these alternate instructions.

 

Loan Period:
Duration: 21 Days

Limit: 10 Titles

There is no limit on the number of users who can have a title checked out at the same time. As a result, there is “no waiting” and no need to place a hold.

Please note that there is no way to check a book back in early. Each book stays attached to your account for a full 21 days.
